Bobble Digital – a round up of 2020

I had a transplant

How’s that for a strong start?

Your health is something that you should never take for granted. I can say that without sounding either cliche or patronising because earlier this year, I underwent a kidney transplant. As a result (and because there was that whole really infectious global pandemic thing) I’ve spent a large part of this year shielding.

I’m very pleased to report that all is well. The operation was a great success. I’ll never be able to properly articulate just how grateful I am to our wonderful NHS. They were superb and saw me through one of the most difficult times of my life.

The Bobble bubble got bigger

During 2020, I recruited a few new faces to the Bobble Digital team. Shaheen Ravat came on board as our Head of Paid Search. Working with her is Charlotte Knight, who joined us as a Paid Social executive. Both are looking forward to helping our clients increase their reach, and their revenue, through paid social media.

In addition, I welcomed Gemma Walton as my Executive Assistant. It’s her job to keep me up to date, in check and completely organised. There’s nothing like having more people around the place to tell you what you should be doing and when.

A massive welcome to all three, I can’t wait to see what you’re going to achieve in the year ahead.

Even more fantastic clients wanted to work with us

One of the best things about my job is that I get to work with some fantastic businesses and their owners. 2020 saw a number of new clients choose Bobble Digital to help them on their digital journey. They come from a variety of different industries, including; home furnishings, PPE, business consultancy and skincare – to name just a few.

It’s safe to say that there’s a lot to keep the team and I busy as we head into 2021.

The Bobble Pod was born

If you’re thinking that would make a great name for a podcast – you’d be right. This year saw the launch of the Bobble Pod, a podcast about all of the things that matter to your business from a digital perspective.

I’ve absolutely loved collaborating with some great professionals on this project and the feedback from the listeners has been lovely to read. The next episode is due to go live on 7 January 2021 so get subscribing!

We went green

I’ve always taken my corporate social responsibility seriously. For me, it’s good to give back and pay it forward. In fact, it was the subject of a recent Bobble Pod which you can listen to here.

I made the decision that Bobble Digital would make a commitment to sustainability and become a carbon-neutral business. So, Bobble has partnered with the Rainforest Trust UK and become part of their Conversation Circle. This means that as a team, we’ll be doing our bit to help endangered species, indigenous communities and our planet as a whole.

The aim over the next 12 months is to save 788 acres of rainforest (that’s 1387 football pitches in case you were wondering). You’ll see that I’ve even got a green version of the Bobble Digital logo – how’s that for commitment to the cause?

Looking to the future

Starting Bobble Digital was the best decision I ever made. It makes me so happy, not to mention grateful, to see it go from strength to strength. Because business success is really what it’s all about. It’s what I want to achieve not only for my company, but for yours too.

I’d like to wish you all a fantastic Christmas and a very happy new year. And I’ll see you all on the other side for another year of Bobble banter.
